STEP OUTSIDE OF THE BOX

To think outside the box, ONE must step outside of the box. Most people go through their entire daily lives stuck inside of the metal box speeding from one place to another with no human contacts, and connections whatsoever. Everything is just a blur to them inside their speeding metal man’s caves.

They’ve become ONE with the machine, and are unable to view anything of importance outside their dark tinted windshields. The car has become a part of their identity, and an extension of themselves. They’ve been conditioned to become automatons, and cogs within the machines. They are no longer human beings, but human drivings.

It is quite insane that people are willing to pay an extra 10 to 12 grand a year for a piece of junk that depreciate, which sits idle for 95% of the time taking up space, and collecting dusts on the streets—all to appear affluent to others.

“When you buy a cow or a refrigerator, it is not the responsibility of the city to find a place to put these things.” Everything is unaffordable because everyone wants their piece of metal junks so they can sit in traffics all day long to impress one another.

You do you, but to force this car dependent lavish lifestyle on people who can barely afford a roof over their heads is criminal. It is a crime against humanity to design cities around a deadly toys, and then blame people for all the problems this bad, and flawed design caused.

We could’ve had trolleys and trams built into the environment on every street corners, and mixed used neighborhoods for everyone if we wanted to, but our choices were decided for us in favors of the privileged car users. This is wrong, discriminatory, and noninclusive.

The level of entitlement from terminal car brains are something else. “When you are accustomed to privileges, any small changes is considered disruptive.” The car users should be stigmatized not praised. The arrogance of spaces dedicated to the storage, and movements of cars is astounding and menacing.

Driving should not be made easy, and the car users should be made to pay more for the costs and damages that they’ve incurred on society by choosing to drive. We don’t design for and reinforce deadly and destructive behaviors, and expect anything else. Until we change the car centric environment to be more human centric, nothing will change.
